Saturday Nov. 10: HardVolume’s In-House Powerlifting Meet!Posted by Eric on 11/09/2018
We will be holding the HV Powerlifting Meet this Saturday November 10th! Please arrive at 10:00am to begin warming up; shortly after then, we will go over the judging standards for the three lifts (back squat, bench press, and deadlift). We aim to begin lifting between 10:20 and 10:30.
Decide on 3 different weights you would like to attempt for each of the three lifts. The first weight should be “easy,” or about 70% of your 1-rep max. The second weight should be “moderate,” or about 80-85% of your 1RM. The final weight should be challenging, 90% and up. These can be adjusted as you lift.
We will have the customary potluck gathering at around 12:30 following the lifting (HELPFUL HINT: we will not have a grill – so bring a dish that does not need to be cooked at HV!)
Get a good night’s sleep and get ready to get your lifts on! We’ll see you at the gym!
